Job Description
The Company:
TaylorMade Performance Labs (TMPL) provides “Golf’s Ultimate Fitting Experience” utilizing the most advanced state-of-the-art motion capture technology to customize a set of golf clubs to match the particular swing characteristics of our clients.
Title: Lab Manager / Master Club Fitter Position Type: Full Time
Location: TMPL-Boston (The International, Bolton, MA)
Position Summary:
Using the same state of the art motion capture technology utilized in the production of movies such as Lord of the Rings, Spiderman and Avatar, as well as sports themed video games, the Lab Manager custom-fits and performs a swing analysis in order to recommend a set of customized golf clubs to suit the clients’ needs. The Manager will also assist in the daily administrative operations of the lab to include: booking appointments, answering and replying to phone calls and emails, preparing/reporting daily sales receipts/reports. He/she will be responsible for the operation of their lab location as a business entity and, when appropriate, will hire and train additional staff to support the Manager.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain TaylorMade’s high-speed motion capture system (MAT-T) and Foresight Sports GC2 launch monitor
- Custom Fit all 14 golf clubs (driver – putter) and golf ball
- Perform a swing analysis and communicate the results to the client
- Review club recommendations generated by the system with the client, build the recommended clubs using the SelectFit system, and bring the clubs to the driving range for the purpose of client validation of the recommendations
- Provide final club specs and pricing to clients and assist in their buying decision
- Order the clubs using TaylorMade adidas Golf’s B2B on-line ordering system
- Track clients’ golf clubs using B2B and shipper’s on-line tracking system
- Answer and reply to clients phone calls and emails / Book appointments
- Train subordinate employees as the business grows
- Help develop and implement marketing / promotion projects to create new sales and revenue streams
- Work with local TaylorMade staff professionals to fit their membership through TMPL Fitting HUB program
- Perform basic club repairs (re-shafting, re-gripping, loft and lie adjustments)
- Maintain high level of TaylorMade and adidas product knowledge and custom fitting techniques
- Keep the lab, range, and clubs clean and organized at all times
- Maintain records of lab inventory of demo clubs and shafts, coordinate receipt and return of demo product
- Prepare detailed sales receipts/reports and interface with corporate controller to operate the lab in a business-like fashion
- Work with corporate controller to prepare monthly reports of operating results
Qualifications:
· Custom fitting knowledge with a minimum of 2 years performing fittings
· At least 2 years experience in teaching golf, understanding of swing mechanics
· Extensive product and shaft knowledge
· Qualified and experienced club builder
· Golf playing experience and golf industry background highly desired
· PGA qualified (highly desired, but not mandatory based on experience)
· Good commercial and sales acumen
· Computer Literate - Microsoft Office, online applications, etc.
