Dwyer sinks the field for 3rd Hudson Cup at Duxbury Yacht Club

Dan Dwyer is cruising.The 41 year old Assistant Professional from Ipswich Country Club is playing some of his best golf as of late.In the past 10 days, Dwyer has moved on to Sectional Qualifying Stage for the US Open after firing an even-par 71 at Twin Hills CC on May 7th, qualified for the Mass Open after a 1-over par 73 at Berkshire Hills CC on May 14th, and today captured the NEPGA Hudson Cup, affectionately named for former Executive Director Susan Hudson, after firing a 3-under par 69 on the 6,400 yard par 72 layout.
Charles River is one of the most storied clubs in the Northeast.A Donald Ross design, the club has produced some of the best Amateur players in Massachusetts and helped to groom a PGA Tour player.It has hosted numerous USGA Championships, local championships and exhibitions for the likes of Francis Ouimet and Ben Hogan.That is why the New England PGA was thrilled to return to these hallowed grounds for the first Ahead Stroke Play Series event of 2012, and that showed as 102 players came out to experience Charles River under tournament conditions.
