What is a PGA Section?
PGA Section Offices oversee the 41 geographic regions throughout the United States and provide the grass-roots network necessary to accomplish direct communications with the nation's 25 million amateur golfers and with the PGA's 23,000 members.
Each Section conducts, for example, regional qualifying tournaments for amateur events such as the PGA Team Championship and the Junior PGA Championship, as well as sponsor junior clinics.
PGA Sections also conduct educational programs, workshops and seminars for the benefit of local PGA members and aprentices. PGA Sections work with the PGA headquarters office to provide nationally renowned experts to participate in these programs, thus assisting PGA members in fullfilling the PGA mission statement.
The New England Professional Golfers' Association (New England PGA) has been making the game of golf better for over 80 years in New England. The New England PGA is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting the game of golf, and is one of the 41 sections that comprise the PGA of America.
The New England PGA consists of over 750 PGA class A golf professionals and over 240 PGA apprentices at over 450 golf facilities in five states -- Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts & Maine. These facilities include public, private and resort golf courses, teaching centers, and driving ranges.
